An Abridged History of West Weaver Baptist Church

West Weaver Baptist Church began as Post Oak Baptist Church in with Sunday Morning meetings at a skating rink owned by a Mr. Bowden in Weaver. The new mission church held its first service on July 3, 1960. Brother Bill Brown was the first pastor.
Work soon began on a church building. The first service at 1021 Otsego Avenue was held in December of 1960. The Constitution of West Weaver Baptist Church was voted on and approved by the 77 charter members on July 14th 1963.
A fond memory in the history of the church was known as “The High Day.” One year during a youth revival the congregation was praying one youth, Frita Finley, to get receive Christ.
Yet, the Lord brought a whole ten people to salvation in Christ!
